The women of Broad Shoulders — new and familiar — will gather at The Studio Chicago [in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood] for another installment of our ongoing pop-up experiences and programming intended to bring ambitious, career-centric women together to:
Build Eachother Up
Strengthen Connections
Enhance Conversations
Unlike many women’s organizations, Broad Shoulders is a non-membership, “come-as-you-are” collective. It was created in 2018 based upon the premise that WE as women, professionals, and consumers (who are constantly being sold to) should have a space where they can have open conversations about what we are experiencing as a collective in life, work, and otherwise.
To date, we’ve held over 40 events here in sweet home, Chicago, and have expanded into several other cities: Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Huntington Beach, CA; and later this year, Dallas, TX. We’ve held conversations around motherhood, climbing the corporate ladder, financial services, beauty, health, real-time wins and challenges, negotiation, influence, and now: CONFIDENCE.
Please join us the evening of August 8th for an evening intended to be focused on CONFIDENCE. How we think of it, why it matters, and what it means to each one of us.
We will hold an ALL WOMAN panel on this topic and later, hear from MEN whose careers are in the public eye.
With Ali Stone and I (Tamara Edwards) as your hosts, we will lead a ALL WOMEN panel discussion to explore what confidence means, how they harness it, and what makes it work.
Later in the evening and for the FIRST TIME EVER, two (wonderful) men will take the #BroadSholders stage — Emmy-Award winning Anchor and Household Chicago Media Powerhouse, Brandon Pope, and, straight from the silver screen, our very own Hollywood actor, author, and motivational speaker Colin Eggelsfield (All My Children, Melrose Place, and Something Borrowed). Together, they will lead a fireside chat to explore Colin’s storied career and the culmination of his life’s work focused on agility, resilience, and resourcefulness to proliferate success in all aspects of life.
Attendees will also be invited to share their individual perspectives and questions during the event.
